This is an impressive start to a novel, I found myself getting completely drawn in to the world created by the author. From the idyllic family life that is shattered by the brutal loss of the father to the world of halfway houses that seem to represent Angie's attempts to reconcile with her errant son.

The pacing is wonderfully executed in these early pages and the flashback sections to set the scene are well placed and enhance the story rather than inhibit the flow.

I'm looking forward to reading this one.
