I've read and enjoyed so many Susan Lewis novels that this one was a must read for me BUT my excitement was very short lived, unfortunately I only got half way through and had to throw in the towel, it just dragged and plodded along, I literally nodded off with boredom.
The whole plot just took forever to move on which was a huge disappointment after reading the synopsis I honestly thought this would be another top rated Susan Lewis novel.
I was expecting a family drama full of emotion and grief but it centred more around financial hardship and homelessness. I kept trying to carry on reading, picking it up, putting it down, picking it up again.... just hoping that some sort of action would start but unfortunately it didnt. It just seemed to lack any substance.
I'm sure I'll be in the minority with my review but honestly its what's asked for and that's what I'm giving.
