I initially wasn't drawn in by the title or the cover. But I feel this is another case where I judged a book by it's cover. I found this novel incredibly moving and I was impressed by all the themes that were covered in this story. The novel portrays problems with gangs, internet predators, trafficking, homelessness, grief, cruel landlords. This was all portrayed in a way that keeps us reading without getting us down. It just makes us, the reader, think about the vulnerable people in our community in a way that we probably hadn't though before. I really felt for Angie who was struggling with all this but she was still keeping her family together with love. The sacrifices that Angie made were admirable and they really show a mothers love. This was a well-written, powerful and emotional journey and I felt myself caring for multiple characters throughout.
