Angies life has been left shattered. Her son got mixed in with the wrong crowd which results in the shocking murder of her beloved husband. Angie fights to hold the family together and keep a roof over their heads whilst her daughter is looking to help her - but in some unsavoury places.

First of all, it was well written and showcased the poverty that people can be trying to get through in Britain. It did broach some very deep and sensitive subjects such as drug abuse and addiction, pedophilia and sex trafficking.

However, this was not really my cup of tea. And I also did not find the wrap up of the story believable, and I can’t explain too much as to why because of spoilers. My low rating doesn’t reflect on the authors ability at all, as I know she’s a very successful author and has written a lot of books, but this really didn’t tick any of my boxes. Having said that, due to the topics that were covered and how the writing was quite emotive in places, I award this 2 🌟
