Hmmm, this book wasn't quite right for me. I do like the idea of a novel exploring the issues of homelessness, debt, grooming, universal credit etc.. which is all in the book, however I think there was a bit too much going on. I found what had happened to Angie quite believable, however I would have liked to see her being a bit more proactive in her recovery. I found Martin's character a bit too perfect and it's a shame it took a 'big strong man' to sort everything out. I doubt in real life if many people get handed all the things Angie gets so although it's supposed to be a 'hopeful' story I think if I was in Angie's position and read this book I would actually feel quite hopeless as most people won't meet a handsome man who sorts out all their problems.
