Susan Lewis's 'Home Truths' is a powerful, hard-hitting chronicle of life, family, bad decisions and repercussions. Angie is such a real character, and we really feel for her. The devastating death of her husband as a result of the actions of her son, Liam, makes the tale even more heart-breaking and the fact that it is so close to home is shocking and gut-wrenching. Lewis's prose is expertly written, and we feel everything the characters are going through as a result of this. The realness of the situation and the fact it could happen to any family adds another dimension to the story, and may hit close to home for many readers, whether through their own circumstances or people that they know. A wonderful read, and an excellent storyteller who combines family with heartache and longing for a better life. Powerful.
