I really felt the heartache of Angie and her whole family for the entirety of this book. It cover's so many heartbreaking and devastating situations in one storyline that you can't help but be impacted by it. I found the storylines quite difficult to read due to the topics they were covering but at the same time I didn't want to put the book down as I was so invested in the characters. It does make you more empathetic for other peoples situations and circumstances and I have also found that it has made me less likely to jump to conclusions if someone is acting a certain way. So it may not be a 'feel-good' read but it surely opens your eyes to a whole world of scenarios that many people in communities face daily. If you don't mind a bit of nitty-gritty and tough storylines then this is definitely a must read for you.
