I'm not entirely sure where the thrust of this story is going based on the opening chapters alone. All we know is that our heroine, Miss Muloy, is now at a Missionary Boarding School a few kilometres from Harare and doesn't seem to like being back in her home country very much. Something has clearly happened to her Political Activist Father to make her and her mother return to Zimbabwe from Slough but this is something that is being left to develop later in the book.

The writing jogs along at a steady pace and does make you want to keep reading due to the flow. The plot itself is not really established so early on so whether the writing style itself will be enough to keep interest I do not know.

I have given this 3 stars as I have found it, thus far, to be all a little bit "meh".
