I LOVED this book. The story is set in Zimbabwe, and follows a young girl called Shamiso - who has recently lost her father. There are multiple different themes in this book, including love, loss, grief and hope.
There is a second character that is closely followed in this book - Tanyaradzwa, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. The two strike a friendship based on their life events.
This book was written in a contemporary form - probably aimed at young adults. The book was quite short - which in a way was a good thing as I read this in 2 sittings - I couldn't put the book down! I enjoyed learning about the themes that underpinned this plot. The emotion in this book evoked a range of thoughts in my head. I would recommend this book to anyone.
