This seems so far like a straightforward police procedural. The cover suits the genre, though I'm not sure that it would stand out particularly on a bookshelf. I enjoyed the flip from the first chapter, watching the crime be committed, to then the police showing up. The humour was good, and the writing was above average. I'd been keen to read more.
