Very enjoyable read, set in the 1920's it brings to life the comings and goings of one family and the people they meet on their journey through life. The characters are brought to life by the author and you really get to know each one really well, although there are some surprises along the way which change the way you feel about a particular character.
The pie shop is at the centre of the story and it gives you a real feeling of what it must have been like to live and work in those times. Not easy times but lots of laughter entwined into the lives of the people.
The writing style was easy to follow, light hearted and transported you to a different era. Happy, sad, surprising, a thoroughly good read.
