I enjoyed this book very much . The characters come alive on the page .
At the heart of the story is Florence . She runs a pie shop which is very well known in the area . Florence is always there as a support for her family and friends . Her youngest sister Rose Marie who is just experiencing her first romance and her absent sister Stella who left her small daughter to be brought up by Florence , Not forgetting Manny who works at the pie shop and who lives in the basement. Warm hearted Florence took him in years ago when he had nobody and nothing . They all respect and admire Florence but do not realise how much of herself she gives to others . An illness acts as a catalyst and suddenly Florence discovers that there is a different life to be lived and it just might not revolve around the pie shop . Will she finally grasp happiness for herself ?
There are plenty of questions to be answered during the course of the book and I loved it .
