This book gives a really interesting and new perspective on the world of transplantation that I had not really thought much about before. It was so interesting to see how one organ donor can save at least 7 lives all over the country after they die.

I liked that the book shows the sad truth behind making difficult decisions that most people don't hear about very often. As a doctor, he has to make sure not to become emotionally attached and I found this quite moving as a reader and I wanted to find out more about how doctor handle their emotions when they are in surgery. I liked finding out that they use humour to lighten the mood.

I quite enjoyed the amusing personal anecdotes and the first paragraph really draws the reader in. The humour engages the reader and makes the book more light-hearted but does not draw attention away from the main message which is really important.

I liked the story about Alexis Carrel but I definitely thought that it could have been much more concise to get the author's point across.

Overall, I really enjoyed this extract and I hope to read the rest soon!
