A interesting and engaging piece of literature based on real life events of a surgeon. Told in an empathetic, but honest manner to demonstrate the highs and lows of this important industry. If you are a fan of books depicting doctors, nurses, surgeons in their day to day life, I would highly recommend. Some humour to add into the drama and loss of such a genre makes this book a real page turner. The author has cleverly split the book into suitable chapters, leading you through a range of different situations. As stated this is not a memoir nor a story. More an insight into the life that these important people lead. The time line at the beginning is also a nice reminder that the surgery today is still really pioneering and we should not take this for granted!
