Organ transplants is a ongoing discussion as more people are needed as organ donors. This book looks at the recipient, The organ donor and the families involved with the decision.
If you are curious on how they retrieve organs and place them in the other person, then this book is for you. The surgeon describes what he is doing, how he feels and how the recipient is afterwards. One family who had lost their child were able to hear the heartbeat of their child in another person. This makes you feel you want to be a organ donor, as you know that when your gone, you live on in another person. I suppose this is where the title comes from and it’s very apt when you read the book. It is easily written so you understand what is going on without too much medical terminology, and where there is, it’s in brackets what they mean. It’s also a story as it discusses the surgeon going to different hospitals and problems that arise.
This is a good book and look forward to reading the remainder
