I think this would be a fascinating book for anyone who is interested in transplant surgery, or the history of medicine more generally.

The main fault that lead me to this decision is the fact that some of the language or terminology being used through tends to lean more towards an expectation that the reader has prior knowledge of the topic instead of assuming that the person is coming to the book without any previous interactions with such a specific area of medicine.

As a reader familiar with other works within the genre of medical-related non-fiction, I was eager to look into how this book would compare to others in the genre. And although I enjoyed the mixture of surgical tales found within, even I found it hard to follow along sometimes and struggled a lot with trying to imagine the author's descriptions of surgical procedures.

On a more positive note about this book, the more historical accounts of transplantation were extremely insightful as well as enjoyable from a modern perspective looking back.
