I picked this up having enjoyed 'This is going to hurt' so much however it is a different format as it is half autobiographical and half a descriptive read about the history and ethics behind transplant surgery. I found it quite hard to get into at first as I'm not from a medical background and there was quite a lot of technical jargon which nearly lead me to abandon it but I stuck with it and enjoyed the second half much more as it focused on interesting cast studies such as 'should an alcoholic be given a liver transplant' and the difficult decisions surgeons today have to face on a daily basis. To sum up it's a very informative read but maybe those with an interest in medicine / surgery will enjoy it more.
