I started this book but unfortunately it wasn't really my thing and I couldn't get through it. I really enjoyed the human story parts eg. thinking about how someone needs to be sick enough to be top of the list for an organ but not too sick that they won't survive surgery and the heart breaking idea of having a 'backup' recipient prepped for surgery on standby. I also enjoyed the history of transplant surgery, this was fascinating. Particularly the history of the first dialysis machines. However, I got stuck on the descriptions of the surgery and how the organs are harvested. It was well written but I guess I was too squeamish for it. This is probably more of a book for the greys anatomy fans.
