I've read a few medical-related books, as its a keen area of interest to me as a hopeful med student, and I have really enjoyed them. So I was wondering fi this would live up to them - and it does, but in a different sort of way. It talks about the authors' own experiences as well as the history of organ transplantation, which is a different format than what I am used to. I really enjoyed the authors account however the historical sections can get a bit textbook-y at times, though still fascinating, maybe they're more for someone with a specific interest in that area. I think the writing was good and engaging, it definitely wasn't dry - starting out with a scary helicopter ride when the surgeon is on his way to deliver organs. If this is a genre you enjoy and you're interested in organ transplantation - I would definitely recommend this book.
