Thought-provoking and enjoyable
This book is about the loss of someone and how loss can become new life - How Death Becomes Life.
It was a very interesting read. It presented many questions and debates that, though I usually wouldn't usually consider them, are quite thought-provoking. For example, whether or not a patient suffering from alcoholism receive a healthy liver and just how much risk should someone healthy take to save someone dear to them.
Though there is a lot of history in this book, it presents it to readers in an approachable and easy to understand way. Personally, I have no medical background and am not extremely knowledgeable medical history. It wouldn't usually be the type of book I'd be drawn to. This book, however, allowed me to have a great introduction into the topic. The author definitely didn't just have a medical audience in mind when writing it. The personal anecdotal stories from the author were also great to read about.
