I picked this book up as it was another in the genre of what I like to call "I work in the medical profession and here's my version of events" which after reading Adam Kays book, I love and have fallen down a dark hole of reading as many in this genre as I possibly can lately.

A transplant surgeon's take on it peaked my interest as it's something I've always been intrigued by but I don't want to reaf medical texts on the subject. So I picked this one up hoping for the same level of humour as aforementioned 'This is going to hurt' and I can say straight away that this one is not humour. This was a good thing. It was a heartfelt and sometimes heartbreaking look into a side of medicine that we don't often think about.

I came away from this book with a greater appreciation of what these surgeon's do for peoples live and how much they sacrifice for other people.

The writing was incredible and I read it in one sitting.

One of my favourites.
