A slow and quiet book with no real thrilling mystery or adventure in the plot. The first two chapters didn't grab me or entice me into reading more, most likely due to its slower pace. I'm not invested in either characters which is strange because I understand Jo's career and Tessa's struggle with a chronic illness. I feel the writing of the characters hasn't drawn me in. The characters weren't clearly described, as to who each one was in relation to the main character. As a reader I'm confused about what I'm reading until later on when I get an idea of who these people might be. Especially when Jo called out to Liam or when Tessa mentions Marnie. I thought Liam was Jo's partner and Marnie could have been Tessa's mother but I read on to find out I'm possibly wrong. The style of writing is possibly the reason I would struggle to continue.

I enjoy nature and I enjoy tye woods. The image on the cover is a beautiful one, however as a book cover it doesn't seem to appeal to me. I wouldn't pick it up off the shelf in a shop and from the synopsis I'm unlikely to want to read on. The two characters seem like they will go on a journey about who they are and where they belong in this world, and there will definitely be readers who will enjoy this.
