I loved Sarah Franklin's novel Shelter and from the opening chapters I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this one too. The first chapter set in the busy butcher's shop has a brilliant atmosphere - pigs in blankets, decorations, glasses of sherry for the customers and "the timeless tang of Christmas".
