Another book about 2 very different people returning to a village they grew up in and everything is not quite what it seems...oh and there are secrets too. Both are nursing secrets from their past which are going to come out in this almost 400 page book. It's a standard theme and is overused by every author who wants to make money. The secrets are dragged out through slow writing and the readers lose interest. The 'secrets' are not even juicy. The opening line 'It’s absolute heady bedlam in the butcher’s.' isn't great either. Why should I continue reading? I expect more from an author who is so well travelled and has written for so many prestigious companies.
