I read this book as part of my book club and it really was something I wouldn’t normally pick for myself to read. It didn’t really blow me away but it was a good steady read which really built as it progressed. It was a good read and the story progressed with a lot of detail. I found the characters were harder to get to know than I would have liked and I struggled to relate to aspects of their storyline. However I do think the way the connections between characters were brilliantly written. I think it would suit someone who prefers a more in depth descriptive write although I did enjoy the lengthier description of the area which certainly made me want to holiday there! The author spoke to us at the book club which I found made me enjoy it more as I got more insight into why the book went in the course it did. She was lovely and I would read others by her.
