I love the writers style, it is subtle, beautifully described and I can just picture everything going on. The first scene with the Christmas celebrations was vivid in my head the whole time. The wording, the phrases, the sense of imagery throughout the book was just extraordinary.

The storyline of the book is very unique, it was very homely, cosy and relates to a time where people forget where home is truly. The heart. From the saying, home is where the heart is. Very touching and emotive story about two characters, ladies, Jo and Tessa. Very moving. Heart- warming. Touching.

Franklin has a way to make the reader understand and deduct a lot of the information about characters. The characters are portrayed and illustrated clearly, concise and simplistic.

The illustrations on the front cover is so simple, compared to the story. This can be altered, as yes its based within the woods but maybe it should be set of two separated characters, or a broken heart sewn back together. A deeper meaning.
