This is a lovely story based around two characters Up and Tessa. Jo returns to her community and so does Tessa although Tessa has a different experience of the community as Jo does and she has secrets and a past filled with guilt and shame. They both have secrets to hide and after a while they come together and find that they need each other to help to put the past right. It is a lovely and touching story. The story is beautifully written and the characters are believable and this is a story that is relatable. The story is just as lovely as the front cover of the book I thought that was a gorgeous picture that was used with the trees and colours used. I thought that the location of the story being in the Forest of Dean was unique and had a strong connection to the story with the description of trees and wildlife. I am intrigued to read more by this author in the future.
