Jo moves back to the forest of Dean from a high powered job that is unsatisfying in London.
Her mission is to try and save the family butcher business as her parents plan to retire.
Brimming with ideas she throws her lot into the shop to try and improve the takings.
Meanwhile she takes a room with the thorny Tessa in her cottage.
Both have baggage from their pasts and slowly as they unfold their lives to each other they are forced to confront the issues in their lives.
This is a sweet story of two totally different women struggling to find happiness and acceptance in a small community and fit into village life the best way they can.
I thought this was a good read but the slow pace of the story and gradual revelations I don't think would suit a lot of readers as it may not be fast paced enough.
For me I thought the characters were quirky and interesting and the overall story engaging.
