The story reads well, and is very "today". However, I think it lacks literary merit. That sounds awfully pompous I know, but it is another London based story depicting a lifestyle where the "F" word, casual sex, drugs and drunkeness is portrayed as normal and acceptable behaviour. The contrast between the superficial life style of name dropping of everything you wear, own, eat or sit in to the reality of the slaughterhouse - the "set" written about have no idea where food or drink come from, or how bar staff, transport workers, electricity or sewage workers, enable their useless lives. From the other reviews, I see that I am in a minority, but this book will not be promoted on my social media!
