This book has a lot of potential if done right. The writing is very good, although more on the casual side (as you may expect for a first person perspective), although some lines are a little nonsensical - "There's squeal that seizes up every muscle in my body", for example. Despite this, the reader is drawn in from the very first line, due to the violent yet intriguing opening prologue.
When it comes to our main character, Kitty, I believe that it's difficult to judge just yet what type of character she will be. She is very clearly violent and borderline psychopathic in her monologues, creating an intriguing character who the reader will enjoy following. I didn't expect her to be an influencer, but I am interested to see how that plays out and affects the book and her development overall.
My main concern is that Kitty may border on unlikeable, due to things like her narration including the follower count of each of her friends and her referring to people as 'Extras', as well as being somewhat vain and judgemental. However, I do believe that a lot of these unlikeable traits will be explained and possibly rectified as Kitty develops. We see an example of this with Kitty's firm following of veganism and excessively angry reaction when realising her coffee contained dairy. However, the final chapter of the book explains and rectifies this, allowing us to find Kitty to be much more likeable. Whether she will be relatable is another debate due to her being rich and being surrounded by wealthy people, but regardless I believe she will be a likeable character.
Overall, I'm very excited to see what kind of plot develops as we follow a character who has already been established as quite complex in a matter of pages!
