I thoroughly enjoyed this book, with dark humour drawing you in on the very first page.

We are introduced to Kitty, a (vegan) heiress to a meat production company. As the title suggests it isn’t long until we are witness to Kitty’s first kill, a male who felt Kitty owed him something for buying her a drink. Whilst it is obvious that Kitty’s murderous inclinations are wrong, as a reader you do find yourself cheering her on!

I appreciated the tongue in cheek aspect of the book, and whilst the dark humour is to be enjoyed, the book also shines a light on an extremely important theme throughout the book of the terrifying prevalence of violence towards women.

In terms of the writing, I thought the book was well written and I enjoyed the short chapters. The building of suspense throughout the book was well done and I enjoyed the twist at the end.

All in all, I thought this book was great, and I can’t wait to read more from the author!
