Have you ever walked home at night, keys in hand, ready to throw a punch in self-defence? That’s how it all started. The killing spree, I mean.

A line like that is probably meant to appeal mainly to women, however I don't consider myself a fan of this book. It's an interesting concept, similar to Killing Eve, in which there is a female lead, however it just wasn't 'deliciously dark' or 'hilariously twisted' in my opinion. It didn't appeal to my dark humor, which is suprising because I am a fan of Killing Eve, which is about friendship, love, and murder. In fact, I think this book should have a warning because some passages of the novel are deeply upsetting, purely because of the subject matter.

The novel is very on trend so I can understand why others have given it such good reviews. The darker subjects have been topics of discussion of late.
