For a crime / thriller, this book reads like a holiday romance novel. The writing style is easy read, colloquial with humorous nuggets thrown in. It sounds interesting and fun, not what I'd expect from a whodunit although these are only the opening paragraphs and the scene I presume is being set for the tone darkening.
It sounds fun and enjoyable, I think I would like it and would quite like a copy to read, however it does not come across as memorable.
