Perfect chilly read for a warm summer day
I can't possibly have been the only one diving into the first pages and expecting a wedding - the setting, the wording of the author, everything set perfectly for the sudden reveal that it is, in fact, a funeral.
This is what made me instantly like the book. The author draws you in, and the different peoples views puts the reader in the middel of all the confusion the characters themselves seem to be feeling. This is the exact kind of book I would bring to the beach on a warm, sunny day to let the chill of it cool me down.
In addition, I am in love with the cover! The preview and cover together would easily convince me to take the book off the shelf in a store and take it home with me. So simple, yet clearly ominous, making the reader want to know what happened just by looking at the cover.
