This is not the type of book I would normally choose, but I'm glad I won a copy and got the chance to read it! Set on a remote tropical island, hotel resort 'How To Kill Your Best Friend' opens at a memorial service for Lissa which is attended by her close knit group of uni friends. Lissa has gone missing presumed dead after going for a late night swim. For various reasons the group starts to realise that maybe they didn't know Lissa as well as they thought they did. Should they ever had trusted her? Can they even trust each other?
I loved the luxurious hotel setting and the description of the island itself really puts you there. It is also very clear that the author is a keen and knowledgeable swimmer and these scenes come to life. There are a few key points in the story line, I guessed the main one pretty early on, but it didn't spoil the story at all. One of the reasons I don't read thrillers like this is that I'm often disappointed with the ending. However this book doesn't dissapoint, all ends are tied up and a main plot point I didn't guess makes itself apparent. I could definitely see this being made into a very good film or short series!
