I really enjoyed the first look at this book which set up an Agatha Christie type whodunnit on a tropical island. A group of long-time friends meet for a memorial service for Lissie, expert swimmer, missing, presumed dead in a swimming accident. In between each chapter someone is discussing the various ways one might kill one’s best friend.

However Lissie’s best friend was nowhere near the island when she died. Or did she die, doubts soon surface (pun intended) and everyone has secrets and it’s difficult to actually say more without spoilers. I did find the device of emails quarantined by an overzealous office IT system a little bit contrived. I also found no really plausible explanation of why Georgie behaved as she did given the way Lissie acted!

I raced through this because I did want to find out what happened although I soon lost interest in any of the characters. And there really was a lot of swimming – an awful lot of swimming! It got a bit tedious really and I found myself sinking and praying for dry land!
