Reading this author's profile, I originally thought that with a PhD in theoretical physics and working in finance that her work might be a bit unapproachable. I am happy to report that her writing is enthralling and very approachable! The characters each speak very realistically, the story moves swiftly because it's told from multiple perspectives and the setting is gorgeous and even though people are there for a memorial, it has an escapist holiday vibe to it.
There are quite a few characters to meet up-front so it can feel a little overwhelming working out who's who at first and what the relationships are, but that's overcome pretty quickly. I also liked that we dropped straight into the action, and then we're trying to keep up as the reader.
It feels tightly plotted and it's also well-written. I'm really surprised I've not read any of this author's work before!
