Wow doesn’t even come close, I have no words for how gripping this book is. I started off reading a couple of chapters each night but about half way through got some engrossed I ended up finishing the book in one night (finished around 4.45am!)
The way the point of view flips between characters so you get different pieces to the puzzle whilst consistently asking more and more questions is ingenious. The author manages to make you second guess every character and even up until the end when one answer becomes pretty clear, I was still suspicious and second guessing everything.
There are only a small number of characters but Elliott writes about each in a way the story and each individual doesn’t seem stagnant, you’re constantly learning new information, personality traits and back story right up until the last page.
The ‘method’ parts were also amazing, I’ve never read a book like it and even in that the point of view I had initially read it from completely changes when all is revealed.
Not only do you have new questions at the end of each chapter, but there are a few mysteries running throughout that I found myself constantly trying to make sense of.
I also feel that Elliott really made each character change and evolve as the story went on in a realistic and believable way, rather than making everyone “live happily ever after”
All I can say is expect the unexpected right up until the end…
