I have to say I’m not a fan of the cover, the hot pink writing and the face peering between the slats to me looks a little tacky and it meant I was (pleasantly!) surprised when I read the first few chapters and found that this is a really well written novel with intriguing characters.
I love Ria already and her response to the stalkers text was fabulous! I do wonder how likely it is that there is a refuge for women escaping domestic violence that allows visitors to its premises even if they are councillors and journalists. Most refuges are incredibly well hidden with good reason. But I am prepared to suspend disbelief as the characters are well drawn and the plot seems realistic in all other regards. I can’t wait to read on!
