OMG!! This was a hard to read but truly amazing book showing domestic abuse and it's effects on women and their children.
Tanyas story really effected me and shows a true and horrific account of what it is like to be in a totally controlled relationship and to feel completely isolated with no where to turn or escape.
It shows exactly how hard it is to ask for help and to actually get that help. How to then move forward with the little help that is available to them from authorities, be it Police, social workers, counselors, refuges or housing. It certainly shows just how little funding domestic abuse actually receives and how it needs so much improvement!
I cried reading this book and had such anger at how degraded and helpless a person can feel. This book had such an effect on me that I have passed it on to my daughters to read, having both experienced domestic and controlling abuse.
