I loved the author's first book, The Devil's Half Mile, which had all the ingredients I look for in a historical crime mystery: interesting lead character, plenty of period atmosphere and a cleverly crafted plot. From the opening chapters, it looks like the author has achieved the same with the follow-up. Can't wait to read more.
