Gripping, descriptive and murder, what more could you want in a book?

This book takes you down the deep dark streets of New York in 1803, following a brutal murder of a young girl. Because its 1803, the language is very old school. Using certain words that may not be acceptable in this day and age, but don't let that put you off. I enjoyed how descriptive the writing is, it sucks you in and makes you feel like you are there. The characters all have their own different personalities and I'll be intrigued to find out how they develop throughout the book. The chapters were kept short and sweet, I thoroughly enjoyed this because I don't put a book down until I finish the chapter.

All in all, an enjoyable read and I hope to discover who the murderer is!
