After reading the first book, which I quite liked, I was expecting to like reading this one too.
And I did, although I didn’t find it as compelling as the first.
It was nice to be back in Justy’s world but I found some parts a little bit slow for my liking which made it drag a bit in places.
The world building is still brilliant though and easily puts you into the story.
It’s written in the same dark, gritty style of the first too which is something I really like about these books, they show the danger and violence of the time in a way that makes you a little uneasy because you know that’s how things were back then.
These are still the only books I’ve read set in this time and I really recommend them.
