I didn't know this book was a series untill I started reading, however, I don't think it made too much difference. I will be hunting down the first book tho as I really enjoyed this novel. The author has a wonderful style of writing and you can tell he has spent a lot of time researching this period. The book is jam packed with historical references, which I am a big fan of.
The preview had me gripped and the rest of the book didn't disappoint me. The tale is full of conspiracy and lies, you start to question everyone and everything that is happening. I won't write too much about this as I don't want to give anything anyway.
I would highly recommend this book and as I said at the start j will be looking out for more by this author
