I enjoyed this book, even though it was the second one in the series. It was a stand alone book so it was easy to just pick it up and read without thinking that I needed to read the first one.
I liked the writing style in this book, it was a very easy book to read but, it also held my interest all the way through. The descriptions in the book brought New York alive in this era and I could see in my minds eye the dark streets and the awful living conditions that people were living in in this time. This brought it alive for me and made it all the more enjoyable.
I will be looking for the first novel in this series and also be interested to know if there will be more in this series as I think it could go far.
