For many years I've read Grace Dent's columns and restaurant reviews, have always loved her amusing, irreverent and thought-provoking writing style and have been looking forward to the publication of 'Hungry'. What a joy it's been to be allowed to read the first 'fifty-two pages and to discover that her memoir is going to be as much fun to read as I'd imagined! Not only can I identify with so many of her memories of childhood and food but, as I live in Cumbria, I know Carlisle well and this adds to my enjoyment! Some nostalgic reminiscing of more innocent times feels like the perfect antidote to worrying about the pandemic!
