Fantastic trip down memory lane
I know Grace Dent as one of of the restaurant critics on Masterchef. The one who always looks down her nose and looks utterly miserable as she samples yet another bizarre combination from the hopeful contestants. Who knew she was actually hilarious? (Well, perhaps anyone who has read her work before, obviously that hasn't included me).
Her autobiography starts (as most do) with her youth, growing up in working class Carlisle in the 1970s and 1980s. Aside from being fantastically nostalgic it was really evocative of being young.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book!
