Reading the first few chapters of Hungry was like having Grace Dent in my sitting room. Her writing captures the same spiky humour and clever turns of phrase as in her TV appearances and restaurant reviews. But the book also touches the changes in our food and our shopping habits over the past forty years, making it part social history as well as memoir. "The past is another country; they eat chips differently there" - brilliant!
