My first impressions of Hungry are that it will encapsulate a lot of my own childhood and family history, born and raised in working class Sunderland. It will be fascinating to explore the ways in which elements of culture we may not even consider (food, in this instance!) differ and shape our communities, and for me I believe this book will help me understand my own culture and community even better!
