I really enjoyed this book and devoured it - literally - in less than 24 hours. A story of family, of love, of heartache, and most importantly rising up to into the world of restaurant reviews. Tales of growing up in Carlisle, moving on to London and working her way up the journalist ladder, various nights out and stories (making her way into a PJ and Duncan after party - so jealous!) and her fond memories of ASDA’s “Whoopsies” stickers.
Some moments I laughed out loud, others were deeply resonant with me and tinged with sadness. Grace Dent is brilliant, and what a life she’s led. My only gripe I guess is not being invited to look at “personal photographs” that you usually see in an autobiography, but I kind of like the privacy behind that, a perhaps nod to her generation x days of “rarely having a clue about the feelings of strangers, neighbours or celebrities...”

Overall, a really enjoyable read.
